Cup Leaf Penstemon Stencil
(Penstemon murrayanus)
A geometric floral stencil in the craftsman/bungalow style of the 1900s-1920s is based on the native prairie plant “Cup Leaf Penstemon.” It’s one of my absolute favorites from my own native flower garden. It has really interesting cup shaped leaves with bright red blossoms. My hummingbirds absolutely love it!
SMALL DIMENSIONS: 11 1/8” tall by 4 1/2” wide
LARGE DIMENSIONS: 17 3/4” tall by 7 3/8” wide

Stencil Details
The Cup Leaf Penstemon (Penstemon murrayanus) is designed to be a part of a frieze with the other flowers in this series and has two extra diamonds on either side to help you align it with the next flower in the pattern (trace them in pencil and then use that to line up the next stencil). It also makes a great standalone design on an accent pillow, a table runner, or roller shades. Use your imagination and creativity!
This stencil is cut from 7.5 mil (small) or 10 mil (large) Mylar which is thick enough for many many re-uses, but not so thick that the design is difficult to stencil. Because it is a larger design, a foam roller might work for part of the design, but I recommend using a stenciling brush to get into all the fine details. Stencil with acrylic paint, latex paint, stencil creams, fabric paint, or glaze. You can use spray adhesive, but I recommend just using blue painters tape to hold the stencil in place and a dry brush or roller to keep paint from bleeding.
